Position Overview

The Sub-Regional Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for positioning the WSP brand across the sub-region in line with WSP’s global brand strategy and desired brand positioning, while supporting the transformation of Marketing & Communications into a key driver of business growth.

This role is responsible for coordinating and representing Marketing & Communications activities across Italy, Spain, Hungary, Turkey, and Greece (added through the Ricardo integration). The position also serves as the Marketing & Communications representative on the Italian Management Team.

The purpose of this role is to support WSP’s growth ambitions across the sub-region by strengthening the company’s reputation as a visible, trusted, and leading brand in the markets where we operate.

Key responsibilities include ensuring that global brand and marketing strategies are effectively adapted, relevant, and impactful within the sub-region, aligning marketing initiatives with business priorities and growth objectives. The role connects WSP’s global vision with local market realities, ensuring consistency while maximising regional relevance and impact.

Acting as a regional champion, the Sub-Regional Marketing & Communications Manager leads the integration and delivery of regional campaigns, identifies opportunities to amplify strategic initiatives, and drives alignment with WSP’s Global Strategic Action Plan and regional growth ambitions.

The role also serves as a strategic advisor to business leaders, country managers, and commercial teams, helping to strengthen WSP’s market presence, enhance reputation, and enable business growth across key sectors.

Success in this position requires strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, a collaborative and creative mindset, and a solid understanding of business priorities within a highly matrixed and international environment.

YOUR NEW ROLE, WHATS INVOLVED?

This role is designed to make marketing a true growth engine for WSP, connecting strategy, brand, and business to strengthen our leadership and accelerate expansion across Italy, Spain, Hungary, Turkey, and Greece, could be located in either Spain or Italy.

  • Execute sub-regional brand positioning and awareness strategies, establishing WSP as a leading brand, technical reference and trusted advisor in the region.

  • Partner with business leaders to connect marketing with commercial outcomes, driving opportunity generation, key account development, and participation in strategic bids.

  • Collaborate on the design of go-to-market strategies by sector, prioritizing markets with the highest growth potential.

  • Collaborate in the Account-Based Marketing (ABM) programs targeting strategic accounts.

  • Lead high-impact campaigns and strategic events, translating global initiatives into locally relevant activations.

  • Collaborate closely with global and regional teams to ensure alignment, coherence, and excellence in execution.

  • Responsible for managing and working closely with the sub-regional Marketing Manager to ensure strong sub-regional marketing and communications support, in alignment with the regional growth agenda.

  • Resource request planning from global service teams to ensure adequate and timely support for regional and sub-regional initiatives.

WHAT IF IT WAS YOU?

  • A professional with at least 10 years of B2B marketing experience, ideally within engineering, architecture, consulting, or professional services.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing is strongly preferred.

  • Proven experience in brand positioning, commercial growth, and strategic marketing within global and matrix organizations.

  • Deep understanding of the complex B2B sales cycle, including public sector procurement.

  • Experience in integrated campaigns, strategic events and sponsorships, and Account-Based Marketing (ABM).

  • Proven experience in developing and executing marketing strategies in a matrixed, multicultural, multilingual, and multi-country context.

  • Strong understanding of the market landscape, client needs, and growth drivers.

  • Strong ability to influence and work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders as well as global, regional, and corporate services teams to deliver best-in-class marketing initiatives and ensure seamless integration across functions.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Fluency in English is required.
