The department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Care is a patient centered team providing exceptional perioperative care while advancing the science of anesthesiology and developing the next generation of leaders in our field. Your Role on the Team This position serves as APP Administrative Manager and will provide oversight/service to the Department of Anesthesiology's Advanced Practice Providers (APP: CRNA, NP, PA) in conjunction with Directors/clinical supervisors in Center for Perioperative Care, CVICU, Acute and Chronic Pain division. Administrative services include development and implementation of short and long-range planning management and supervision of APPs and staff and administrative operations, recruitment, education, space and event planning, performance evaluation, finances in support of APPs’ clinical services and teaching endeavors in conjunction with respective divisions’ clinical supervisors as well as the Chief Administrative Officer and the Department Leadership. Supports process improvement and problem solving while developing administrative policies and procedures that ensure optimal functioning of the divisions in alignment with the School of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Care, and hospital policies. Provides guidance, direction and ensures employees' compliance with the University policies. Responsible for APP budget, payroll approval, staffing structure suggestions, schedule changes and employee requests. Provides recommendations for hiring or releasing employees within the supervisory responsibilities. Prepares and implements marketing strategies in APP recruitment in conjunction with the clinical directors/supervisors/CRNA Manager. In collaboration with UCI stakeholders (Space planning, Facilities, IT, HR), establishes processes to enhance operation efficiency. What It Takes to be Successful Required: Bachelor’s Degree or higher with five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Skill in budget preparation and spending projection Knowledge of organizational, analytics, presentation and strategic planning skills. Demonstrated ability to handle heavy workload and constantly changing demands. Demonstrated skills in equipment, material and space management. Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other department and faculty, and staff. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion. Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment of rapidly changing priorities and frequent interruptions. Proven personnel management strength, including demonstrated ability to select, motivate, develop, evaluate performance, discipline and promote collaborative team effort. Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training Five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred: Previous UC system experience. Knowledge of API and TRS time tracking for clinical providers and staff. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel Outlook and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel Outlook and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Qgenda and complex clinical scheduling system.
