What you’ll do:
The Lead Analyst – IT for Digital Manufacturing will have primary responsibility for driving and supporting the design, DevOps strategy, technical architecture, and solution delivery for strategically aligned initiatives by incorporating best practices and standard design patterns across the project lifecycle as an expert in the APS (Advanced Planning & Scheduling) space.
This Ortems Lead Analyst will be part of the Manufacturing Core team, managing and enhancing the DELMIA Ortems platform for production planning and scheduling.
This position is responsible for gathering business requirements, defining system functionality, and designing and configuring solutions on the DELMIA Ortems platform, with proven expertise in: production scheduling, capacity planning, constraint-based planning, finite scheduling, and integration with ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
The role also requires strong understanding of plant operations, planning processes, and integration points, along with awareness of IT infrastructure, network, and security constraints across enterprise and shopfloor environments. Knowledge of discrete manufacturing environments is a strong advantage. Prior experience in system upgrades, performance tuning, and large-scale deployments is also preferred.
As our Ortems (APS) Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for your functional scope to:
- Bring proven experience across multiple DELMIA Ortems implementations as a Lead Analyst in Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS)
- Define, design, configure, and implement solutions that align with user stories related to production scheduling, capacity planning, and constraints management
- Define, develop, and execute agile work plans supporting iterative and incremental product delivery
- Ensure delivered solutions meet technical, functional, and non-functional requirements, along with enterprise architecture and technology standards
- Enable continuous integration and deployment of Ortems solutions in collaboration with DevOps and service teams
- Validate scheduling solutions to ensure performance, optimization accuracy, and responsiveness; collaborate with testing teams to ensure adequate test coverage, defect resolution, and automation where applicable
- Lead the development of prototype scheduling models and planning scenarios using Ortems capabilities (finite scheduling, heuristics, what-if simulations)
- Participate in requirement workshops, solution design discussions, and Fit-Gap analysis for Ortems/APS implementations
- Demonstrate strong functional knowledge in manufacturing planning processes including production scheduling, sequencing, resource allocation, and shopfloor constraints
- Possess hands-on experience in key Ortems modules such as Production Scheduling, Capacity Planning, Resource Management, and scenario simulation
- Configure and customize Ortems solutions using out-of-the-box features, scheduling rules, constraints modeling, and optimization parameters
- Implement business logic and scheduling strategies within Ortems for optimized production plans
- Support master data design and governance relevant to planning (resources, calendars, routings, constraints)
Qualifications:
- Master / Bachelor's degree from an accredited insitituion
- 8+ years of experience; 5+ years of experience in Ortems manufacturing Solution and development background.with a proven track record of shipping high quality products.
Skills:
- Software engineering practices: Strong adoption of best practices in solution design, configuration management, and scalable system implementation.
- Operating systems: Good knowledge of Windows and Linux environments supporting enterprise applications and scheduling solutions.
- Enterprise systems: Experience working with scalable, enterprise-grade distributed systems, particularly in ERP–APS–MES integration landscapes.
- Technical fundamentals: Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and optimization logic relevant to planning and scheduling systems.
- DevSecOps & CI/CD: Strong understanding of DevOps principles, including CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and secure development practices for enterprise applications.
- Modern development practices: Experience with APIs, system integrations, microservices architecture, and cloud-based deployments to enable seamless APS connectivity.
- Agile methodologies: Advanced working knowledge of Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban for iterative solution delivery.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain and present technical concepts to a diverse set of audiences.
- Comfortable working directly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Good judgment, time management, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work colaboratively on a technical team.
- Experience working with and guiding diverse, global cultures, organizations and teams.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Ortems/APS applications and integrations
- Drive end-to-end technical delivery from requirement definition through design, build, validation, go-live, and user adoption
- Develop high-quality, configurable, and scalable solutions aligned with APS best practices
- Document solutions using process flows, scheduling logic diagrams, configuration guidelines, and technical documentation; mentor team members on documentation standards
- Recommend tools, integration approaches, and architecture improvements to enhance APS solution performance and scalability (e.g., ERP–MES–APS integration)
