Senior Scientist - Beamline Scientist

The successful candidate will be a member of a team of scientists and engineers in a dynamic research environment in the Science and Advanced Technology group at MSTS’s Livermore Operations and will be frequently deployed to the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Light Source (SSRL), where MSTS maintains and operates two beamlines for NNSA. The beamline scientist will team with the current beamline scientist, National Nuclear Security Administration Metrology Team (NMT) and Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource (SSRL) staff to act as a local contact and interface for the NMT users, providing the operational support and maintenance of the beamlines and experimental areas (hutch, end station vacuum and auxiliary chamber(s), and beamline diagnostics). Thus, ensuring the highest quality of experimental support and data return for our users. The scientist is expected to take considerable initiative, work independently and collaboratively, to implement an ongoing program of support.
