Position: Advanced Manufacturing CTE Teacher
Reports To: Building Principal
Location: Belmont High School
Salary Schedule/Grade: Refer to DEA Schedule
F.L.S.A Status: Exempt
SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Executive Principal and Director of Pathways, plan
and implement appropriate teaching and learning strategies for Advanced
Manufacturing. This role focuses on delivering state approved Advanced Manufacturing
curriculum, ensuring students master production processes, quality practices, and
technical safety standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
? Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a related academic or technical
subject area.
? Certification: Valid Ohio Career-Technical license in Manufacturing, or the ability
to obtain one.
? Experience: Three to five years or more of industry experience in manufacturing
or engineering is preferred.
? Driver Certification: Ability to obtain Ohio School Van Driver Certification for
transporting students to field trips or CTSO (e.g., SkillsUSA) activities.
? Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and comply with
drug-free workplace rules.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Curriculum Delivery: Create engaging hands-on lessons aligned with the Ohio
Advanced Manufacturing curriculum, focusing on production processes and
technical skills.
? Safety Instruction: Implement and enforce safety protocols including personal
safety (PPE), hazardous materials handling (SDS), and safe operation of manual
and electrical tools.
? Technical Training: Instruct students in the use of measurement tools,
maintenance practices, and the interactions of chemical substances in
manufacturing.
?Business Skills Integration: Teach 21st-century employability skills, including
career planning, business management, and professional networking.
? Student Assessment: Analyze student data from formative and summative
assessments to differentiate instruction and meet diverse student needs.
? Professional Rapport: Establish and maintain positive relationships with
students, parents, and staff, utilizing the District's classroom management
strategies.
? Industry Partnership: Identify and engage local manufacturing business
partners to support instruction and provide real-world context for students.
CORE COMPETENCIES
The teacher will prepare students to:
? Identify career opportunities and requirements for certification and licensure in
manufacturing.
? Demonstrate proficiency in quality practices, measurement, and maintenance.
? Identify and operate safety equipment, including fire extinguishers and
emergency flush showers.
? Develop a career plan reflecting interests and postsecondary options.
PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES/DEMANDS
? Frequent standing/walking for extended periods in a lab/shop environment.
? Repetitive motions such as bending, reaching, stretching, and kneeling.
? Ability to occasionally lift and/or move lightweight items up to 40 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
? Work is performed in a classroom and manufacturing lab setting.
? Subject to frequent interruptions and strict timelines for student credentialing.
? Periodic travel for meetings and professional development.
