Job Description
Overview:
Under the general leadership of the Director of Contracts, the Contracts Manager is responsible for overseeing the contract lifecycle of business service contracts and supervising the activity of all contract subordinates.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Oversees the formulation, development, and/or revision of operating policies, procedures, and strategies for contract lifecycle management
- Manages the drafting, negotiation, and approval of contract documents, including the research and resolution of contract issues, in accordance with corporate policies and legal requirements
- Manages all administrative tasks related to contract execution, including the routing, signing, scanning, and filing of contract documents
- Provides authoritative guidance to internal business teams and contract subordinates on corporate goals and objectives relating to contract activity
- Facilitates training sessions to ensure work product across internal business teams and contract subordinates is in compliance with corporate contracting standards
- Develops contract subordinates to assume more complex contract activity
- Reviews work output of contract subordinates for completeness and accuracy (quality), reassigns tasks as needed to accommodate volume fluctuations (quantity), and tracks both metrics against business needs, reporting status and key issues to Director of Contracts
- Partners with sales staff to understand upcoming contract needs for new deals and renewals
- Partners with legal counsel to develop, maintain, and revise contract templates and contracting guidelines to ensure uniform general terms and conditions
- Drives continuous improvement by overseeing and participating in special projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, J.D. preferred
- 5+ years related experience
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Strong line management skills, including effective delegation and prioritization
- Ability to develop, prioritize, and accomplish goals
- Ability to deliver and drive consistency in a team environment
- Ability to work with varying seniority levels, including staff, other managers, and external partners
- Ability to analyze and improve business processes
- Knowledge of contract documents and specifications
- Knowledge of legal requirements pertaining to contracts

- Experience working with a Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system a plus
- Proficient with online meeting and web conferencing tools
- Proficient with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
Other Duties:
Travel as required up to 10%.

Physical Requirements:
The employee will be working in a home office environment in which he/she must sit for extended periods of time in front of a computer as the main working tool. Use of telephone with or without a headset is required. The employee will be frequently required to see, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
