Global Compliance Analyst
Job Description
Overview
The Global Compliance Analyst supports the Global Compliance organization by driving consistent compliance execution across the network, translating regulatory requirements into operational practices, and ensuring timely resolution of compliance issues.
This position can be based at any CHQ office location (Bellevue, Seattle, Lynnwood, Federal Way)
Network Support, Compliance Intake & Communication
- Serve as the primary liaison for compliance-related inquiries between Global Compliance and the global network
- Triage incoming requests and ensure accurate, timely responses
- Provide timely and practical guidance to operations on compliance-related questions and scenarios
- Draft and publish compliance communications, including newsflashes, regulatory updates, and operational guidance
- Reinforce consistent messaging and expectations across the global network
Branch Support & Performance Stabilization
- Partner with regional and district leadership to identify root causes of compliance gaps
- Support response to compliance issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Ensure compliance issues are identified, communicated, and resolved in a structured manner by supporting targeted branch engagement and driving remediation actions, including for high-risk or underperforming locations
- Escalate systemic issues and recurring risks to Global Compliance leadership
Monitoring, Trends & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze compliance trends, recurring errors, operational risk areas, and recommend process improvements
- Use data and feedback to inform communications, training priorities, and process improvements
- Support reporting to leadership on compliance performance and emerging risks
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of compliance programs and controls
Regulatory Interpretation & Subject Matter Expertise
- Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in assigned compliance areas (e.g. manifest & security filings, restricted commodities, denied parties)
- Monitor, interpret, and apply regulatory requirements to processes and assess operational impact
- Translate regulatory requirements into system and process requirements
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with government agencies
Systems & Process Enablement
- Partner with Global Technology to support compliance system enhancements
- Provide business requirements and feedback on compliance-related system functionality
- Support testing, implementation, and adoption of compliance tools and processes
- Ensure systems align with both regulatory requirements and operational needs
General & Strategic Support
- Support Global Compliance projects and strategic initiatives
- Maintain and update compliance documentation while supporting the development of presentations, training materials, and leadership updates
- Contribute to the development of scalable intake and support models
- Manage and respond to restricted commodity and prohibited port requests
- Minimum of five (5) years of operational experience in an Expeditors transportation product and/or compliance role.
- Strong understanding of transportation, compliance processes, and operational workflows
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and operate in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service mindset and ability to support a global network
- Working knowledge of Expeditors systems (e.g., ETMS, CFIT, manifest and security filing systems).
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Dangerous Goods Certification (or ability to obtain while in role).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time‑management skills.
- Knowledge of Expeditors Product OPS, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to travel if required.
