Primary Work Location(s): This position is Hybrid, requiring a combination with remote work and occasional onsite presence, based upon business need.
Candidate must currently reside within 1 hour or less commuting time from Hackensack University Hospital – 100 First Street, Suite 300, Hackensack, NJ. 07601. Applicants unable to meet this requirement will be ineligible for consideration.

As an Eligibility Service Coordinator, you will get to make a difference in patients’ lives every day! You will be a liaison for patients navigating some of the most stressful moments of their healthcare journey. In this role, you will coordinate patient scheduling, manage documentation, and facilitate communication between patients and Savista’s Eligibility Specialist who will assist the patient with obtaining financial assistance through programs like Medicaid, Medicare, disability, and hospital charity care programs. What you’ll do:
Schedule patient appointments for financial assistance.
Check-in patients upon arrival and ensure all required documentation is available for processing while covering onsite.
Answer incoming calls, respond to voicemails, and provide guidance on next steps.
Assist patients by providing requested documents and materials.
Meet productivity and quality expectations.
Utilize multiple systems and databases to gather, track, and report patient information.
Communicate updates to Eligibility Specialists on scheduling and patient workflow.
Process incoming and outgoing mail.
Complete special projects, as assigned.
What we’re looking for:
High school diploma or GED
Proficiency in English and Spanish
6 months+ of experience in a customer service role.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to explain complex information clearly and empathetically.
Ability to handle a heavy call volume.
Work collaboratively in a team environment.
Capability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and patient needs.
Travel: 10%
