Project: Musselwhite
Location: Pickle Lake, ON Canada
Rotation: 14 days on, 14 days off
Shift Length: 12 hours
Travel: Flight from airport closest to point of hire to Thunder Bay - Chartered flight to site
Accommodation: Remote Camp setting

Job Summary:
Construction Leader:
Under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor and/or the Underground Superintendent, the primary role of the Construction Leader is to perform construction mining tasks and is able to complete them efficiently with little to no supervision and will guide the less experienced construction miners. The role of a Construction Lead Miner includes a wide variety of work such as forming, concrete work, vent doors, man doors, vent walls, sump installations, pipe installation, ventilation and fan installations and many more challenger.
Minimum 3 years construction mining experience (required)
Knowledge Required
Demonstrated ability to read mine plans and specifications for underground mining.
Ability to multitask and work effectively
Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
Respectful of cultural differences
Expe Salary Range: $122,000 - $172,000/annum, range is variable and dependent on overtime worked and production bonus paid
Construction Miner:
The primary role of the Construction Miner (Development) is to perform such work as shotcreeting, building refuge stations, crusher stations, muck bins, conveyor installation, timber and concrete work, sump installations, the installation of vent tubing (air, water and pumping lines), other construction work and maintenance jobs as required.
2 years’ experience in a related construction role
Knowledge Required
Ability to multitask and work effectively
Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
Basic Knowledge of the mining industry
Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment
Ability to read, review and understand Standard Work Procedures, safety programs and applicable mine regulations
Basic understanding and ability to read civil prints and or construction prints
Must have the ability to adapt to change

Salary Range: $118,000 - $168,000/annum, range is variable and dependent on overtime worked and production bonus paid
Construction Leader:
General:
Work in coordination with project engineering and construction management when necessary to plan and clarify parameters and decide on processes to be utilized
Monitor, assess and report construction activities to help ensure acceptable progress on the project
Report any deviations in progress and suggest appropriate action as critical dates approach to ensure a smooth transition from phase to phase
Develop and lead crew to achieve planned objective

Construction Miner:
General:
Inspect existing underground headings
Knowledge of construction methods in the mining environment
Scale loose rocks and install ground support to stabilize rock mass and ensure overall safety in the workplace
Operate, pneumatic hand-held drills and various other construction tools
Operate hand-held drills such as jacklegs and stopers
Use of rubber-tired underground mobile equipment such as LHD (Load-Haul-Dump) units, scissor trucks, Boom trucks, shotcrete sprayers and other support vehicles
Follow established regulatory, company, and client rules and regulations

- Following Redpath Canada Limited health and safety standards and systems, including the Five Point Safety System and the Cardinal Rules, and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions
- Responsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment required in the performance of the work.
- Must have knowledge of the WHMIS legislation and know how to effectively use an MSDS sheet.
- Comply with the Act and Mining Regulations that apply to the work area
Construction Leader:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Ontario Hard Rock Underground Common Core – Full Basic
- Ontario Basic Underground Hard Rock Mining Specialty Module U0084, U0066B, U0066C, U0066D Common Core
Work

Minimum 3 years construction mining experience (required)

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
High Ontario Hard Rock Underground Common Core – Full Basic (or other provincial equivalent)
Required Specialty Modules: U0085a, U0085b, U0085c & U0086 (or other provincial equivalent)school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Work Experience
2 years’ experience in a related construction role
