Job Description
Baptist Health-Fort Smith is seeking a BC/BE Orthopedic Surgeon to join a busy practice with Baptist Health. This clinic currently has five physicians, four surgeons and one who does injections. The call schedule will be one in five. The physicians in this group currently split their time in the hospital and clinic, usually spending two and one-half days a week in surgery and the other two and one-half days in the clinic. The clinic has casting, lab and x-ray on site and uses Epic for the EMR in the clinic as well as in the hospital. The clinic sees between 250-300 new patients monthly.
Baptist Health Fort Smith is a 492-bed hospital complete with an emergency department, intensive care unit, outpatient imaging and surgery center. It offers a wide range of specialties including cardiology, neuro-interventional radiology, orthopedics, pediatrics and geriatric medicine. The facility is accredited by the Joint Commission and continues to earn recognition for exceptional stroke and heart care by national agencies. The system also includes a 103-bed hospital nearby in Van Buren and more than 40 clinic locations. Baptist Health employs nearly 100 providers in Western Arkansas and works closely with independent and contracted physicians in the community to provide quality care to its patients. Baptist Health-Fort Smith, formerly known as Sparks Regional Medical Center, was built in 1887 making it the state’s first hospital.
