Materials Handler I (Multiple Positions)

Handles and maintains flow of materials and products in manufacturing, stockroom, or warehouse environments. Performs routine tasks to handle, move, and store materials and products in a warehouse setting. Follows detailed instructions to check incoming shipments for damage or shortages and helps complete required paperwork for records. Operates motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment. Counts, weighs or measures incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records. Assists with ordering and restocking standard inventory items by following set procedures. May recommend reorder of items when instructed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of campus buildings and locations. Knowledge of automated or computerized system operation. Knowledge of record keeping practices. Knowledge of safety practices. Skills in operating forklift or other materials handling equipment. Ability to operate large vehicles in tight and congested areas. Good communication skills and attention to detail. Physical Requirement: Ability to lift packages and objects that weight up to 50 lbs.
