
Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting
Job Description
- 12+ years w/Bachelor’s degree; 3+ years management
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance ◦ Minimum of 6 years of progressive leadership or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in financial reporting or technical accounting
- Experience in insurance or healthcare sectors, with knowledge of SAP and regulatory frameworks
- Prior leadership experience in public accounting or a complex, multi-entity environment
- Proven success in managing audits and implementing reporting improvements
- Demonstrate strong financial and data literacy with deep expertise in GAAP, SAP, and regulatory reporting, coupled with advanced technical and regulatory writing skills and a clear understanding of enterprise-wide financial impacts.
- Proven experience in leadership of accounting systems with demonstrated ability to translate accounting requirements into effective system design, controls, and reporting. Experience with system implementation preferred.
- Apply strategic thinking to connect financial data with enterprise objectives, and effectively communicate insights through tailored storytelling that resonates across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrate an agile and adaptable mindset in dynamic environments, combining proactive problem-solving with curiosity-driven innovation and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 24. $122,400 - $265,100
