As a Department Head, you’ll lead by example — inspiring teachers to create engaging, differentiated lessons while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence. Please note: Not all campuses serve grades 4 and 5, and specific details will be shared during the interview process.
What You’ll Do:
- Support and mentor teachers to deliver creative, standards-based, and student-centered instruction.
- Conduct observations and walkthroughs, offering constructive feedback and coaching toward growth goals.
- Facilitate professional reflection, goal setting, and continuous improvement among your department team.
- Lead monthly department meetings to align best practices, policies, and Fusion-wide curriculum standards.
- Guide new teacher onboarding, training, and ongoing development within your subject area.
- Review files and records to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with Fusion expectations.
- Serve as a resource for instructional ideas, parent communication, and curriculum implementation.
- Partner with campus leadership to maintain high standards of professionalism, creativity, and care.
- Contribute to campus culture through participation in community events and collaborative initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or teaching credential preferred.
- Relevant academic experience, ideally at the middle or high school level.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and differentiated instruction.
- Ability to coach and inspire teachers while maintaining accountability and support.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of learning differences and a passion for personalized education.
- Positive, proactive leader who thrives in a dynamic, student-centered environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning, collaboration, and professional growth.
