Ameresco currently has a new opportunity for a Senior Superintendent to join our Federal Team in support of the design, construction, and successful implementation of multimillion-dollar, large-scale energy savings projects. This position will support projects around Washington, DC.
Responsibilities:
Provide senior-level onsite leadership for direct subcontractor workforce, including overall control and direction of all field operations, construction management activities, and site performance.
Act as the primary field leader, coordinating with Project Management, Engineering, and client stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
Lead project planning efforts with the Project Manager, including oversight of the critical path, sequencing, and execution strategy, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with contract documents.
Oversee and direct multiple scopes and subcontractors, ensuring alignment of schedules, productivity, and quality expectations.
Supervise and ensure the timely, safe, and cost-effective installation of all contracted work.
Drive development and execution of detailed work plans, look-ahead schedules, and site logistics plans in coordination with project teams.
Provide leadership during pre-construction and early project phases, including constructability input, scheduling strategy, and risk identification.
Deliver proactive project updates to internal leadership, clients, and stakeholders, identifying risks and recommending solutions.
Ensure comprehensive understanding and enforcement of owner contracts, subcontracts, and procurement requirements in the field.
Lead and enforce safety, quality control, and compliance programs, ensuring adherence to company policies and all federal, state, and local regulations.
Support overall project success by resolving field issues, driving accountability, and maintaining strong subcontractor relationships.
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial or government construction
OSHA 30-hour Certification
CQM Certification
Ability to review confidential US security information.
Additional Qualifications:
Extensive experience in mechanical and electrical construction, preferably in complex or federal environments.
Deep understanding of the construction lifecycle, including scheduling (CPM), contract administration, manpower planning, and cost control.
Proven ability to lead large-scale field operations and manage multiple concurrent scopes.
Strong experience with Quality Control (QC) and safety leadership on complex projects.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and construction management tools.
Thorough knowledge of OSHA standards, building systems, and federal construction requirements.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, mitigate risk, and drive project outcomes.
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $111,000–$161,500 (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.
Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
