
Maintenance Worker
Job Description
A Day in the Life:
The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in keeping plant equipment and systems running efficiently to support production and facility operations. This role involves performing a mix of preventive and corrective maintenance across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and building systems. Daily tasks include diagnosing issues, replacing parts, inspecting machinery, and executing repairs using hand and power tools. Work is guided by structured maintenance schedules, equipment manuals, and production needs. The technician also contributes to emergency repairs, facility upkeep, and continuous improvement efforts to reduce downtime and maintain operational standards.
What You Bring to the Table
Technical Skill and Equipment Maintenance
· Performs mechanical and electrical repairs using hand and power tools
· Installs and reassembling machine parts based on production needs
· Operates welding and cutting equipment to modify or join components
· Cleans, lubricates, and maintains machinery to prevent breakdowns
Preventive Maintenance and Troubleshooting
· Executes scheduled maintenance to reduce downtime
· Diagnoses equipment issues and completes necessary repairs
· Interprets manuals and work orders to guide service tasks
· Identifies required parts and supplies from catalogs and vendors
Facility Upkeep and Safety
· Handles basic plumbing and carpentry tasks as needed
· Operates forklifts and material handling equipment safely
· Maintains clean work areas and follows safety protocols
· Reports faulty operations or materials to appropriate personnel
Communication and Task Execution
· Works independently or with a team to complete assignments
· Communicates clearly with supervisors and peers
· Adapts to changing priorities and production demands
· Responds to feedback and maintains professional conduct
Core Requirements:
· At least 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
· Proficient in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial systems
· Experience installing, servicing, and testing equipment and wiring
· Basic knowledge of PLCs and HVAC systems
· Strong math skills including fractions and unit conversions
· Capable of lifting up to 100 pounds and performing physical tasks throughout the shift
· Effective verbal and written communication
· Demonstrates initiative and sound problem-solving skills
· Works well within a team and responds professionally to feedback
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with structured preventive maintenance programs
· Comfortable working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
· Bilingual in English and Spanish
· Experience identifying and sourcing parts and supplies from vendors
