Location & Schedule
In this position, you can expect to work on-site at Denver International Airport (parking is provided) - Denver International Airport, 8500 Pena Blvd. Denver, CO 80249.
Shifts consist of four (4) 10-hour days, Sunday-Wednesday OR Wednesday-Saturday
The primary shift will be discussed in the interview and can be any of the shifts listed below. Shifts are yearlong commitments and are subject to change based on operational need.
Day Shift: 0600-1630 (6:00 AM-4:30 PM)
Swing Shift: 1500-0130 (3:00 PM-1:30 AM)
Graveyard Shift: 1930-0600 (7:30 PM-6:00 AM)
Shifts are not guaranteed and are subject to change. 7%-12% pay differential depending on shift assigned and equipment operated.
Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If staffing challenges occur, weather conditions warrant, or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees will be required to work extended hours and/or alternative shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
Participate in mandatory snow removal duties. Hours for On Call Snow Overtime: 3:00am to 3:00pm or 3:00pm to 3:00am.
Uniforms are provided along with a work boot allowance.

Denver International Airport is seeking an HVAC Mechanic I to join the Facility Maintenance team. Responsibilities include:
Installs, maintains, and repairs HVAC equipment and machinery including parts fabrication and inspects facilities and equipment to determine needs as permitted by the appropriate HVAC certificate
Operates, maintains, and repairs high/low pressure steam or hot water boilers, pumping units, vacuum pumps, boiler feed pumps, and auxiliary equipment
Operates, maintains, replaces, and repairs commercial or industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems, controls, and related equipment
Installs, replaces, and repairs forced air heating/cooling equipment, systems, and ductwork
Prepares working sketches and works from blueprints
Assists in the maintenance and repair work in a variety of other skilled trades areas
Plans and coordinates installation, maintenance, and repair work with other trades areas
Operates and maintains tools and equipment common to various skilled trades
Executes comprehensive HVAC maintenance and repair tasks for plant and building facilities
Maintains records and prepares reports; Estimates materials, labor, and equipment costs
Observes all common safety practices
Performs other related duties as assigned

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
General HVAC experience (residential or commercial)
Building Automation System experience preferred
Pipefitter experience helpful (knowledge/skills to repair leaks, valves, seals, pipe repair, etc)
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to adapt and learn new systems
Flexibility to work varied shifts based on business needs
Team oriented; Willingness to help out where needed

Ability to obtain HVAC certification by end of six-month probationary period (Refrigeration Operator, Heating and Ventilating Journeyman, Refrigeration Journeyman, Steamfitter Journeyman or Stationary Engineer certificates are accepted)
Required Minimum Qualifications
Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
Experience Requirement: One (1) year of journey-level HVAC experience maintaining, repairing, and constructing HVAC systems and equipment
Education/Experience Equivalency: A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.
License/Certifications: This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
License/Certifications: Possession of CFC (Universal EPA) Chlorofluorocarbon certification by the end of the probationary period
