As our Cardiology Technician, you will be working alongside very experienced SPTs as well as a team of physicians who will rely on you to add to their procedure with your knowledge and skills. Our Cardiology Techs will serve in both scrub and monitor roles. Procedures performed include left and right heart catheterizations, temporary pacemaker insertions, structural heart procedures, EP ablations as well as minimal vascular cases. Location: Banner North Colorado Medical Center
Schedule: 4 9-hour shifts from 7am-4:30pm; Call rotation required
Ideal Candidate:
- At least 2 years in healthcare setting, Cardiology preferred;
- Must have BLS (uploaded into application)
- Call Rotation: 1 weekday a month, 1 weekend a month; (Must live within 30 minutes of facility due to Call requirement.)

This position assists physicians and collaborates with other health professionals during the performance of diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide optimal care\treatment to patient population.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Assists during the performance of diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures to treat heart disease in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
2. Prepares patients and work area for procedures in accordance with departmental policies. Pulls appropriate instruments and supplies and ensures good working order of instruments. Reviews case for correct instruments and supplies. Plans ahead for upcoming case needs.
3. Demonstrates knowledge of procedures and techniques, i.e. knowledge of normal and abnormal ECG rhythms and/or lead changes, various hemodynamic values, normal and abnormal pressures, ST elevation/depression. Monitors and records ECG and pressure waves during the procedures. Provides other aspects of patient care as needed.
4. Demonstrates the principles of aseptic and sterile techniques as well as universal precautions throughout the procedure. Disposes of sharps and trash and places used supplies into case cart for processing. Prepares instruments for cleaning following each case.
5. Participates in stocking, replenishing supplies and cleaning.
6. Accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to the scope of practice. This includes maintaining confidentiality of all work information. Adheres to all safety policies.
7. This position works under the direction of a physician or other health care professional. Internal customers: Physicians, all levels of nursing management and staff, medical staff, and all other members of the interdisciplinary health care team. External Customers: regulatory and health agencies, patients and family members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Certification for BLS required. ACLS may be required depending on assignment.
This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with 2+ years of experience in a clinical setting. The position requires the ability to maintain professional decorum in highly stressful emergent situations. The position requires the ability to be conscientious, organized, and orderly and the ability to respond quickly to the needs of the health care staff and patient.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience working in a Cardiac Cath Lab and certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
Estimated Pay Range:
$24.32 - $36.48 / hour Banner Health is committed to pay equity and transparency. This range is based on possible base salaries and does not include the value of our total rewards package.
