Driver (Donation Truck)

Location: Milwaukee, Wi

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-time 40Hrs/weekly

Schedule: Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

About the Role

At The Salvation Army, your work directly supports programs that meet critical needs in our community. We are looking for a reliable and service-focused Driver to operate a Salvation Army truck, pick up and transport donated goods, and provide excellent service to donors while representing our mission with professionalism and care.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Drive a Salvation Army truck to pick up and transport donated goods
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules to complete daily pickups
  • Provide courteous, respectful service to donors as a representative of The Salvation Army
  • Safely load and unload donations, ensuring proper handling and security of items
  • Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections (air, water, oil, lights, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate communication using required systems (e.g., iPad apps, DSS program)
  • Follow donation acceptance guidelines and communicate any issues to dispatch
  • Support and train program beneficiaries to help them meet work therapy goals
  • Maintain vehicle safety and comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations
  • Report any accidents, injuries, or safety concerns immediately
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and follow dress code policies
  • Wear assigned PPE as required

 

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a retail, warehouse, and outdoor environment. Conditions may include temperature changes, dust, and moderate noise levels.
