Job Description

POSITION:                         Extended School Year (ESY) - Special Education Lead Teacher/Coordinator (Elementary or Secondary)
LOCATION:                       Groveland Elementary (Elementary Special Education Lead)
Lenape Secondary School (Secondary Special Education Lead)
AVAILABLE:                      
  • 40 hours between 02/20/2026 - 06/12/2026
  • ESY Program runs for 5 weeks - vacation time is not permitted.
  • 06/29/2026 through 07/30/2026; Monday-Thursday
  • Training Days for faculty and support staff June 23-25, 2026
COMPENSATION:            $50.00 p/hour (based on 2026/2027 Aux sheet)
HOURS:

(During ESY) 
Elementary: 8:30 am - 3:00 pm; Monday through Thursday
Secondary: 7:30 am - 2:00 pm; Monday through Thursday  

  • Additional hour(s) deemed necessary for planning/programming purposes/startup/close out
DESCRIPTION:                 

Lead teacher responsibilities include:

  • Collaboration with ESY Supervisor
  • Creating class rosters for ESY (including, related services)
  • Interviewing faculty and staff for positions
  • Any necessary collaboration and communication with transportation prior to and during ESY
  • Daily arrival/dismissal oversight of students
  • Daily oversight of classrooms/programming
  • Communication with faculty and staff
  • Facilitation trainings and parent open house
  • Readily available for assistance if needed in the building
  • Daily attendance and faculty/staff coverage
  • Reviewing hourly pay sheets for faculty
  • Parent communication
  • Utilization of crisis prevention techniques/strategies (including possible restraint as a last resort) with students who require such in their IEP.  Training will be provided via CBSD.
REQUIREMENTS:             Interested candidates must have strong leadership skills, ability to multi-task, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Special Education Supervisory or K-12 Principal Certification/coursework preferred.
