The Controls Project Engineering team performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives while being a part of multi-disciplined project teams. Projects include customers from all types of industries including e-commerce, Food & Beverage, General Merchandise, and many others. This is a hands-on role, focused on performing electrical and PLC software commissioning on automated warehouse and material handling systems at customer sites, helping bring complex automation solutions into operation safely, on time, and to specification.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about mechanical engineering, problem solving, and working hands-on with mechatronic material handling equipment.

What You will Do:
- Travel approximately 80% to different Customer locations or manufacturing locations
- Perform on-site project commissioning of material handling logistics systems that integrate mechatronic hardware and software to deliver an automated customer solution
- Commission controls systems on-site including electrical and PLC software commissioning and to provide support to system test activities and training for the end user.
- Produce commissioning documentation including, but not limited to, commissioning checklists, tests specifications, Method Statements and Risk Assessments for Automated solutions
- Deliver the assigned project scope and tasks by meeting\exceeding our safety, quality, On-Time-Delivery and budget requirements.
- Seek advice and guidance from others on non-routine or more complex equipment and areas of the system
- Identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to solve them
- Provide assistance in recommending ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction
- Provide regular Commissioning status/progress updates to Dematic leadership
- Support on-site Reliability, Performance, and Volume Testing, System Start-up, Go-Live, and post Go-Live customer support for the projects.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Electrical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering preferred)
- 1-5 years of experience as Automation / Controls / Commissioning Engineer or similar role.
- Proficient in or ability to learn reading computer-based engineering drawings, equipment technical specifications, troubleshooting techniques, and testing equipment
- Ability to understand Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings.
- Knowledge of PLC (e.g., Allan Bradley), HMI, SCADA development and commissioning software.
- Demonstrated basic knowledge of professional behavior principles and skills including communication, collaboration, courage, training, and teamwork
- Ability to effectively Collaborate and Communicate with Customers, co-workers, Vendors and Sub-contractors
Pay Range: $45 - $60 per hour
Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure.
Work Requirements:
• You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
• Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Travel Requirements:
Due to the nature of the work, 80% of travel is required.
