Job Description

Make our Tax team your best move ever

We're looking for a talented Indirect Tax Manager who leads key tax compliance, reporting, and audit support activities across the organization, including those related to U.S. sales and use tax, gross receipts taxes, U.S. business licenses, U.S. property taxes, and selected non‑U.S. indirect taxes.

Why here?

TricorBraun is a global packaging leader, with team members working throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. As North America’s largest distributor of primary packaging, we provide innovative solutions to customers from a wide variety of industries. Our customers range from cutting-edge start-ups to the world’s most iconic brands.  We put people first and live by that every day.  Join us and you will be welcomed by our friendly, motivated and supportive team.  Many of the products we distribute are already sitting in your home.

Your role here

Ready to join our team in a key role where you'll be a go-to person for sorting out certain income tax matters and helping our finance team navigate the complexities? You'll be right in the mix, making sure newly acquired companies seamlessly transition into our tax framework while also ensuring we're on top of standard methodologies in business controls and tax documentation.

Your problem-solving approach will be essential as you help us develop and maintain these practices. Plus, your role will be critical during tax audits, crafting responses that'll make the auditors nod in approval.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead tax compliance and reporting processes for indirect tax filings (such as sales and use tax, property tax, GST/ HST/ PST and other transactional taxes), ensuring timely and accurate returns, payments, and supporting reconciliations.

  • Lead indirect tax audits and controversy matters, including information gathering, data production, response coordination, and resolution discussions with taxing authorities, in partnership with internal collaborators and external advisors as needed.

  • Provide proactive business support on tax considerations tied to operational changes, customer arrangements, and critical initiatives, helping identify risks and opportunities early and recommending practical solutions.

  • Drive process improvement and automation initiatives across tax workflows, partnering with Information Technology and Operations to improve data quality, system integrations, and tax technology (for example, enterprise resource planning systems and tax calculation or exemption tools).

  • Develop and maintain tax policies, procedures, and process documentation to support consistency, scalability, audit readiness, and knowledge transfer.

  • Support acquisitions and integration activities as applicable by assisting with tax onboarding requirements, system alignment, and compliance setup in partnership with internal teams and external advisors.

Your experience and background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field.

  • 6–10+ years of indirect tax experience, including sales/use tax, U.S. business licenses, and U.S. property tax.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. state and local tax rules, including nexus, exemptions, and property tax concepts.

  • Experience in a multi‑entity, multi‑state environment.

  • Public accounting and/or large multinational corporate tax experience.

  • Experience supporting post‑acquisition integration activities.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and tax engines.

  • CPA, JD, or MST preferred but not required.
