The Project Associate plays a pivotal role in driving the operational excellence of the Montefiore Medical Group (MMG) Department of Nursing. This position provides critical operational and administrative support across 20 primary care locations and serves as a cornerstone for the growth of our newly developed Nurse Practitioner (NP) Fellowship program. Working in close collaboration with nursing leadership, the Associate will facilitate the coordination, tracking, and execution of strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing field-based site visits with rigorous project management, timeline enforcement, calendar optimization, and compliance monitoring to ensure all program benchmarks are met.
Responsibilities
- Partner with management to document, evaluate, and revise operational workflows to enhance team efficiency and elevate service levels.
- Assist leadership in program planning, development, and the creation of standard operating procedures and policies.
- Help establish department goals and track project performance against established timelines and targets.
- Act as a proactive facilitator in maintaining quality assurance across all departmental responsibilities.
- Coordinate recruitment workflows, manage interview schedules, and facilitate the candidate selection process.
- Guide new fellows through onboarding, orientation, and performance evaluation cycles while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Manage complex calendars, schedule high-level meetings, and optimize leadership’s daily schedule.
- Coordinate recruitment, scheduling and project management oversite of IRB approved virtual group-based intervention
- Provide project management support for collaborative project with Bureau of Early Intervention
- Provide administrative and scheduling support for HealthySteps/CoCM programs
- Attend meetings to record, finalize, and distribute comprehensive minutes and action items.
- Conduct operational site visits across primary care locations and manage departmental inventory and supplies.
- Demonstrate strong project management capabilities by tracking deliverables and managing multiple timelines simultaneously.
- Utilize exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively across diverse clinical and administrative teams.
- Maintain a heightened attention to detail and strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks in a high-volume, dynamic environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 3 years of healthcare industry experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong, proven capabilities in Excel (data tracking) and PowerPoint (presentations).
HOURS: Monday-Friday 830A – 500P
Associates are eligible to apply for a lateral transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Part-time Associates who have completed their probationary period can move to full-time vacancies within their department provided such movement will not unreasonably reduce the operational efficiency of that department. Probationary period is three (3) months for full-time employees, and four (4) months for part-time employees who works more than 3/5 of the normal workweek.
