Job Description Summary:

The Growth Management Office (GMO) is the strategic nerve centre of our growth organisation — a high-impact team working at the intersection of strategy, finance, and cross-functional execution. We move fast, we think clearly, and our work translates directly into business decisions at the highest level.

As a GMO Intern, you will be embedded in a team that manages a complex growth portfolio across geographies, technologies, and value chain stages. You will be expected to contribute meaningfully from day one — not just support, but think, analyse, and help drive outcomes.

This is the right role for you if you are passionate about energy and strategy, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are eager to develop a strong business and analytical foundation early in your career.

Job Description:

What You Will Do

  • Strategic Planning: Support the development and continuous update of the Growth Programme Business Plan, ensuring alignment between strategic priorities, country roadmaps, and corporate direction.

  • Portfolio & Stage-Gate Management: Contribute to portfolio management and stage-gate processes, supporting project prioritisation based on value creation, risk profile, and strategic fit.

  • Budgeting & Capital Discipline: Help consolidate Growth budgets and investment needs, and support resource allocation analysis across Growth initiatives.

  • Performance Management & Data: Support the development and maintenance of dashboards and analytical tools for performance tracking across execution progress, costs, CAPEX, and risks.

  • Reporting & Stakeholder Management: Contribute to consolidated Growth reporting for senior forums including SteerCos, Executive Committee, and Board, ensuring a clear and consistent strategic narrative.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as a coordination support across Growth, PMO, Strategy, Finance, Energy Markets, and country teams to ensure programme coherence and smooth execution.

  • Benchmarking & Continuous Improvement: Benchmark internal performance against peers and best-in-class practices to identify efficiency gains and value creation opportunities.

What We Are Looking For

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field

  • Genuine passion for the energy transition and strategy — you naturally think about the 'so what' behind data and analysis

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with comfort working with models, data, and financial analysis

  • Structured communicator — able to synthesise complex information into clear, concise outputs

  • High levels of motivation, ownership, and intellectual curiosity; you do not wait to be told what to do

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and high standards

  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with data visualisation tools is a plus

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Why Join Us

  • Work on real strategic and operational challenges from day one

  • Be part of a team that operates with high standards, analytical rigour, and a strong focus on outcomes

  • Gain direct exposure to senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and a complex international business

  • An ideal launchpad for a career in strategy / business development  in the energy sector
