Job Description
The Material Control Technician Senior will transport product in the warehouse and shop using a power industrial truck (PIT). The role will load and unload delivery trucks, participate in the packaging process, record the product received and put product in the proper shelf spot. The Material Control Technician Senior ensures the material is received and delivered and sometimes working with scanners to fulfill the orders. The Material Control Technician Senior mentors and oversees team member’s technical deliverables to ensure Roush and customer standards are met.
As a Material Control Technician Senior, you will be responsible for:
- Serving as subject matter expert to assist the team and customers
- Identifying, inspecting, and tracking incoming and outgoing parts for quality, quantity and accuracy
- Operating an industrial truck
- Loading and unloading materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves
- Reading work orders and following verbal instructions
- Researching inventory control audit discrepancies and leading process resolution for continuous improvement
- Loading materials and installing strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit
- Communicating with shop floor and supply the build floor with material build kits
- Cleaning, organizing, removing packing dunnage, and keeping the work area clean
To be considered as a Material Control Technician Senior, you will need:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 8 years of material control experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience operating warehouse equipment (PIT).
- Great customer service, reliable attendance, and ability to work overtime
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and very detail oriented
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel) including a proficient level of knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Ability to obtain or qualify for an industrial truck license.
- Ability to read, count and communicate inventory data both written and verbal, follow directions, learn new skills and technologies and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
Preferred Experience:
- Associates degree in Business, Operations, Logistics, or related field
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends
