As a Junior Industrial Automation Engineer, you will join a collaborative engineering team supporting 24/7 manufacturing operations, where you will develop your technical expertise while contributing to the performance and reliability of automated production systems.
Your Role
You will support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of industrial automation systems across the site. This role is ideal for an early‑career engineer eager to learn, grow, and progressively take ownership in a regulated manufacturing environment.
What You Will Do
Automation Support & Troubleshooting
- Support diagnostics and troubleshooting of PLC, HMI, SCADA systems, and industrial networks
- Participate in corrective and preventive maintenance activities for automated equipment
- Support production teams during technical incidents to minimize downtime
Programming & Equipment Integration
- Contribute to PLC and HMI modifications under guidance of senior engineers
- Support commissioning of new equipment and execution of functional and acceptance tests
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and improving OEE
- Collect operational data and perform basic analyses to identify improvement opportunities
Documentation & Compliance
- Support preparation of validation documentation (IQ/OQ) in compliance with GxP requirements
- Ensure activities follow safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Project & Team Collaboration
- Work closely with external suppliers and internal engineering, quality, and production teams
- Contribute to project planning and execution activities
- Participate in on‑duty call rotation after onboarding and training
What You Will Bring
Education & Experience
- Master’s degree in Automation, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
- 0–5 years of experience in automation, industrial maintenance, or engineering
- Exposure to manufacturing, utilities, pharma or biotech environments is a plus
Technical Skills
Basic knowledge or first hands‑on experience with:
- PLCs (Siemens and/or Rockwell)
- HMI / SCADA systems
- Industrial sensors, actuators, and instrumentation
- Electrical schematics and automation drawings
- Industrial communication protocols (Profinet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP)
Personal Skills
- Strong willingness to learn and develop expertise in industrial automation
- Analytical mindset with basic problem‑solving skills
- Clear communication and ability to work in cross‑functional teams
- Proactive attitude: comfortable asking questions and taking initiative
Languages
- French: C1 (mandatory)
- English: B1 (mandatory) – B2+ is a strong plus
