Job Description
Type of Employment: 10 month school calendar
Salary/benefits: Determined by bargaining unit contract of certified personnel.
Job Certifications: Learning Behavior Specialist I (LSB1); Professional Educator License; Language Arts Middle School Endorsement
Duties:
1. Provide instruction in Language Arts using co-teaching model for 5th-6th grade students
2. Provides written information as needed for the development of IEPs and for preparation of an IEP review.
3. Works positively/cooperatively with co-workers through information sharing and consultation to promote effective education of students.
4. Accurately assesses the needs of students and implements behavior management strategies to respond to these needs.
5. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: 1. Masters or Bachelor's degree in Special Education
2. Must be flexible in the ability to teach multiple grade levels as student populations change
3. Ability to teach a classroom of students within all basic instructional areas
4. Ability to work with youth with emotional/behavioral/academic difficulties
5. Ability to be flexible, work in teams and creatively problem solve
