Job Description

The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy, and Sleep Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, seeks a highly motivated physician for a full-time faculty appointment. This is an open-rank position, and the successful candidate will devote the majority of their clinical effort to our high-volume Interventional Pulmonary Medicine practice.

The Mayo Clinic Rochester Interventional Pulmonary program is among the busiest in the nation, providing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services in support of our lung transplant, oncology, and pulmonary practices. Our facilities include a state-of-the-art interventional pulmonology suite equipped with robotic bronchoscopy, cone beam CT, rigid bronchoscopy with jet ventilation, and a full complement of flexible bronchoscopes and advanced instrumentation. In addition, a new bronchoscopy suite is scheduled to open in the fall and will further expand these capabilities with state-of-the-art, ceiling-mounted cone beam CT and robotic navigational bronchoscopy. The program also supports one Interventional Pulmonology fellow annually.

Candidates must have completed an Interventional Pulmonology fellowship and be AABIP board certified or board eligible. Members of the Interventional Pulmonology practice are expected to participate in the Interventional Pulmonary on-call rotation, including emergency bronchoscopy call, as well as in the outpatient clinic and inpatient pleural consultation services.

The remainder of the candidate’s effort may be devoted to other areas within Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy, and Sleep Medicine, continuation of funded research, or pursuit of professional development opportunities. The recruitment package includes protected time for scholarly activity, tailored to the candidate’s interests and career goals.

The successful candidate will be appointed at an academic rank commensurate with experience in the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine and will have opportunities to contribute to scholarship, mentorship, and the academic mission of the division. Interventional Pulmonology faculty work closely with learners in both the Interventional Pulmonology and Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship programs; therefore, a strong commitment to education and demonstrated skill in teaching are essential.

Candidates must have completed an Interventional Pulmonology fellowship and be AABIP board certified or board eligible.
