Summary
This Senior Pharmacy Technician is a detail-oriented and highly motivated Certified Pharmacy Technician who supports pharmacy operations with a primary focus on product verification. This role plays a critical part in ensuring medication accuracy, patient safety, and timely delivery of medications throughout the facility. Key Responsibilities
- Perform product verification of medications prepared for automated dispensing system restocking and first-dose dispensing in accordance with pharmacy policies and regulatory standards.
- Accurately verify medication selection, dosage form, strength, quantity, labeling, and expiration dates.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies related to medication pulls, inventory, packaging, and dispensing workflows.
- Collaborate with pharmacists, technicians, and nursing staff to ensure timely and accurate medication delivery.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, medication safety standards, and internal quality assurance processes.
- Escalate concerns or unusual findings appropriately while contributing to process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability in daily workflow management and task prioritization. Provide and receive in-the-moment feedback.
- Support inventory control and medication storage standards within automated dispensing systems.
- Assist with training and mentoring of pharmacy technicians and interns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.

Qualifications
High School graduate or general education diploma (GED) required. Associate's degree preferred.
Must maintain annual registration as a Pharmacy Technician through the State Board of Pharmacy in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state privileges as required by position. Must also complete the required hours of Pharmacy Technician continuing education.
South Dakota: Pharmacy Technician license with the SD Board of Pharmacy required at time of hire. Technician must be PTCB certified at time of hire, and is required to maintain certification.
