Job Description
We’re building a smarter, more disciplined long-haul LTL network. That requires pricing leaders who can make fast, disciplined decisions rooted in math, market behavior, and operational reality; not legacy assumptions.
This role is for someone who wants to own how pricing decisions are made—not simply oversee a team processing requests.
You’ll lead a team of Pricing Engineers and raise the level of thinking behind every pricing decision. That means challenging assumptions, improving decision models, balancing competing variables, and ensuring pricing becomes a true competitive advantage.
What you’ll do
1. Build a high-performance pricing team
- Lead, coach, and scale a team of Pricing Engineers (6–9)
- Set a high bar for speed, quality, and ownership
- Develop talent that thinks, not just executes
- Create a culture of accountability and analytical rigor
2. Own pricing decision systems
- Oversee pricing outputs across bids, customers, and strategic accounts
- Challenge assumptions and improve pricing logic
- Continuously refine decision frameworks (yield vs. volume vs. capacity)
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and speed in execution
3. Drive analytical excellence
- Use quantitative reasoning to evaluate pricing opportunities and risks
- Analyze trends in yield, volume, lane performance, customer behavior, and profitability
- Understand elasticity, variance, forecasting trends, probability-based decision making, and pricing tradeoffs
- Identify outliers, anomalies, and hidden margin leakage
- Build models that improve pricing precision and reduce reactive decision-making
4. Influence revenue and network performance
- Partner with Sales and Operations on pricing strategy and execution
- Support high-stakes bids and customer negotiations
- Align pricing with network design and capacity realities
- Improve margin quality—not just top-line growth
- Build feedback loops that improve future decisions
5. Improve systems, not just outputs
- Identify inefficiencies in tools, workflows, and processes
- Drive automation and smarter use of data
- Contribute to the evolution of pricing infrastructure and capabilities
- Push the team beyond reporting into real insight generation
What you bring
- 5+ years of pricing, revenue management, transportation, logistics, finance, or highly analytical commercial experience
- 2+ years leading and developing teams
- Strong mathematical and statistical foundation with the ability to interpret large datasets and make business decisions from them
- Experience using pricing models, forecasting logic, trend analysis, or profitability modeling
- Advanced Excel; SQL preferred; exposure to large datasets
- Bonus: Python, VBA, or automation experience
How you operate
- You think in systems, not tasks
- You challenge assumptions constructively
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and imperfect data
- You own outcomes, not activity
- You communicate clearly and decisively
