Job Description

A Fund Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting of investment funds (e.g., hedge funds, private equity, mutual funds). The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Key accountabilities:

  • Calculation of Net Asset Value (NAV) on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis

  • Record fund transactions (trades, income, expenses, fees) into the accounting system

  • Maintain and update general ledger accounts

  • Perform cash and position reconciliations with custodians/brokers

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies (“breaks”) in fund records

  • Assist with internal controls and ensure accuracy of financial data

  • Process subscriptions, redemptions, and investor capital activity

Skills & experience required:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Good understanding of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP)

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong Excel skills (data analysis, reconciliations)

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines (e.g. NAV cycles, month-end)

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Additional information

  • The role offers a hybrid / flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
