Job Description
M&M Industries is a U.S.-based manufacturer of plastic pails and packaging solutions. We operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety, teamwork, and consistent production performance are critical to meeting customer needs.
The Shift Lead is responsible for ensuring their team meets daily objectives by implementing and sustaining improvements, controlling inventory and material flow, and supporting safe, efficient production operations. This role provides hands-on leadership by communicating expectations, coaching and mentoring team members, teaching new processes, sharing best practices, and empowering team members to identify and drive improvements. The Shift Lead supports department initiatives and works closely with the Shift Supervisor to address safety, quality, and production needs.
Schedule: 3rd Shift, 10:45PM-7:00AM, Monday-Friday
Key Responsibilities
Follow all safety policies and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure a safe work environment
Coach, lead, and mentor team members to support goals in safety, quality, and productivity
Oversee schedule and material changes in accordance with the work order changeover process
Oversee and support injection molding processes
Monitor machine output for non-conformance and support defect resolution with cross-functional teams
Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S methodology
Conduct pre-shift production meetings
Provide support to production team members, including floaters, operators, material handlers, and processors
Provide the Shift Supervisor with accurate information regarding safety issues, quality concerns, and production bottlenecks
Adhere to production standards and SOPs and escalate non-conformance issues to the Shift Supervisor
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional hand-eye coordination
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Basic computer skills
Proficient mechanical knowledge
Ability to utilize or learn production monitoring software
Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
One (1) or more years of prior experience working on molding machines such as Husky, BMB, Van Dorn, Engel, and/or Milacron preferred
Basic knowledge of auxiliary equipment such as Beck robotic automation, Martin Automation, and Kase Heat Transfer applications preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and handle 45–55 pounds occasionally
Ability to work in an environment with moderate noise levels
Ability to perform work from standing and/or sitting positions
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include hot or cold conditions
Ability to wear required PPE at all times (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)
