
Grand Rapids Kroc Center - Pool Attendant
Job Description
Position Summary: Pool Attendants will perform professional duties supervising the aquatic center, locker rooms, participants and aquatics programs for the Grand Rapids Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide general supervision of the aquatic center and lockers rooms.
- Provide information and answer questions about safety guidelines and available programs.
- Safely dispatch patrons down the slide.
- Monitor and assure proper usage of locker rooms, inner tubes, and spray pad area.
- Maintain accurate headcounts.
- Report all equipment and aquatic related problems to the Aquatics Manager.
- Enforce all safety guidelines that pertain to the aquatic center and locker rooms on a constant and consistent basis.
- Notify members and staff when pool is closed for contamination or power outage.
- Assist with swimming tests as needed.
- Ensure participants under 18 years of age are wearing wristbands.
- Ensure children under the age of 12 have proper adult supervision.
Maintain the cleanliness and operation of the aquatic center and locker rooms.
- Maintain cleanliness of the aquatic area and locker rooms by picking up trash, cleaning equipment and following shift procedures
- Report all equipment breakdowns according to the stated procedure.
- Enforce all facility safety rules and regulations.
- Collect and manage the Lost and Found.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Be at least 16 years old
- Be able to read, write and communicate in English with the preferred ability to communicate in Spanish
