The Billing Specialist is responsible for preparing accurate and timely invoices for assigned customers while ensuring billing documentation, data entry, and customer billing records are complete and consistent with company standards. This is a detail-driven role that supports reliable billing operations through accuracy, organization, and consistent follow-through.
Compensation
Starting pay is $21.00 per hour, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process invoices for assigned customers according to billing schedules, contract terms, templates, and company standards.
- Review billing data and supporting documentation to ensure invoices are accurate, complete, and issued on time.
- Identify discrepancies, missing information, or billing inconsistencies and escalate questions before invoice release.
- Assist with billing corrections, revised invoices, and documentation updates as needed.
- Respond to routine customer billing inquiries in a timely, professional, and customer-focused manner.
- Provide invoice copies, billing details, and basic billing explanations when requested.
- Escalate complex or sensitive billing matters to the Director of Billing.
- Maintain organized billing records, customer documentation, billing schedules, and support files.
- Support audit requests by providing accurate and complete billing documentation.
- Coordinate with the Director of Billing, Billing Operations, and AR teams to support priorities, workload, and issue resolution.
- Provide backup support to other billing team members when needed.

Work Environment
