Job Summary:Perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance work on our converting, printing, and extruding equipment and various other ancillary equipment, as well as general repairs to building and grounds. Emphasis on Good analytical skills and ability to source other/outside resources to resolve issues, troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic and mechanical problems; repairing and replacing faulty components or parts, installing new machines and equipment, performing Preventive Maintenance on equipment, maintaining parts and supplies inventories.Job Location:Garland, TXJob Details:Emphasis on good safe work practices and familiar with safety procedures.Solid communication skills the ability to work well with others.Good analytical skills set and a sense of urgency when it comes to completing work.Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic systems and control circuits.Ability to solve mechanical problems; repairing and replacing faulty components or parts, installing new machines and equipment, performing Preventive Maintenance on equipment, maintaining parts and supplies inventories.Perform reactionary maintenance (i.e., repair machines, equipment, etc., when required, as such goes down).Preventive maintenance can carry out tasks and responsibilities associated with maintenance of equipment, building and grounds, etc.Plan and carry out tasks and responsibilities associated with special projects on existing or new equipment or facilities.Assumes responsibility for managing projects assigned.Sources products and materials and obtains pricing for maintenance purchases.Accountable for parts inventories relative to own needs and replenishing.Perform most types of tool & die and fixture jobs.Miscellaneous duties, projects and responsibilities as assigned.Collaborative SkillsWorks well within a small team to solve collective problems.Proactively reaches out across departments to collaborate.Encourages teamwork with all department and/or facility members.Communicates well with fellow department and/or facility members.Accepts training readily, quickly understands new concepts.Shows willingness to offer training to fellow department members.Performs a task with limited supervision and may require that you provide guidance to fellow employees.Demonstrate the ability to work on a team to achieve departmental results.Required Education, Experience, and QualificationsHigh School diploma, or GED equivalent; Prior experience in a Machine repair and maintenance Department, or technically oriented position desired.Welding/FabricatingMachining, Lathes, and MillsUnderstanding of machine control systems, and electrical schematics Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondences.Use Office software and enter work orders in our CMMS softwareMathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Physical Demands: This position requires the following on-the-job time performing physical activities: Standing, walking, climbing and balancing over 2/3rd of work time. Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawling under 1/3rd of work time.Work Environment: This position is required to perform duties that are exposed to the following environmental conditions:Fumes or airborne particles, working near moving mechanical parts 2/3rd of work timeToxic or caustic chemicals, work in high, precarious places under 1/3rd of work timeRisk of electrical shock 1/3rd to 2/3rd of work timeVibration under 1/3rd of work timeThe following noise level is typical for the work environment of this job:Loud (Examples: metal can manufacture department, large earth-moving equipment)Specific job duties that are affected by the environmental conditions selected above.Exposure to continuously operating Extruding machines and related equipment
