How You’ll Make an Impact
- Integrate technical knowledge and business understanding when analyzing complex issues and support business- and process-specific recommendations.
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders within AMA Insurance Services to identify and manage significant risks that may prevent the business from meeting its objectives, including risks arising from business operations and processes.
- Support management in ensuring comprehensive risk mitigating controls, practices, methodologies, processes and guidelines are in place and that they are appropriately assessed and maintained.
- Analyse and assess risks to AMA Insurance Services,including operational risks, key risk drivers, and the design and effectiveness of internal controls across business processes.
- Support and enhance structured risk processes, including risk assessments, control assessments, and risk documentation (e.g., risk registers).
- Develop and evaluate the results of risk assessments and advise on action plans, including enhancements to control effectiveness and process design.
- Support the translation of strategy and changes in guidelines/requirements/business environment into risk based recommendations
- Liaise with management, operational teams, the compliance oversight function, internal auditors, and other stakeholders as required, to support and coordinate to meet timelines.
- Support the development of dashboards, management reports, and analytics to provide insight into risk exposures, trends, and control effectiveness.
- Support and promote a positive and proactive risk culture within AMA Insurance Services.
What You Bring to the Table
- Undergraduate degree in a related discipline such as Risk, Finance or Business
- Professional designation in a relevant discipline (risk, accounting, etc.) is considered an asset.
- Minimum three years of experience in a risk, finance or, audit role, preferably at a regulated financial institution with practical exposure to operational risk management, internal controls, or process-level risk assessments.
- Demonstrated skills in risk identification, assessment, and control evaluation within business or operational contexts.
- Familiarity with structured risk management practices (e.g., risk assessments, risk registers, or control documentation).
- Ability to analyse and understand complex regulatory / legal requirements and risk structures
- Strong technical and data skills; demonstrated analytical thinker.
- Attention to detail and demonstrated high level of accuracy
- Unquestionable integrity, ethics, and professionalism
- Strong communication (written and verbal), presentation and facilitation skills
