Software Development Engineer, CIA Interactions
Job Description
Our team owns a diverse portfolio of high-impact products: Turbo AI, an intelligent autonomous agent that reasons across Amazon's internal operational data to answer complex engineering questions; Imperium Inspector, an LLM-powered debugging service that eliminates hours of manual log analysis for network operators; Imperium UI, the single-pane-of-glass web platform for visualizing and executing network deployments globally; Cafe CLI, the command-line backbone engineers rely on daily to manage network infrastructure; and Fine-Grained Access Control (FGAC), the dynamic authorization system that governs safe, context-aware access across all Imperium services. We are also actively building the next generation of AI agents, including Imperium Assistant and Imperium Inspector Agent on top of our Turbo Agent Service (TAS) platform.
What makes this team unique is the breadth of the work. In a single sprint, you might ship a new AI agent, improve a React-based dashboard used by hundreds of engineers, harden an authorization policy in FGAC, or build a CLI command that eliminates a manual operational burden. You will own your solutions end-to-end from design to production on a modern AWS stack including ECS Fargate, Bedrock, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, and Lambda.
We are a team that moves fast, obsesses over customer experience, and believes that the best infrastructure automation should be seamless. If you're passionate about applying AI to real operational problems and want to see your work directly reduce toil for engineers at Amazon scale, this is the team for you.
Key job responsibilities
- You will design, build, and operate full-stack tools and AI-powered services used by network engineers across thousands of Amazon fulfillment centers globally.
- You will develop and evolve AI agents — including Turbo AI, Imperium Assistant, and Imperium Inspector , leveraging large language models to automate complex operational workflows and reduce engineer toil.
- You will partner with Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, and Product Managers to translate real operational pain points into intuitive, scalable self-service solutions.
- You will contribute to a diverse product portfolio spanning web UIs, developer CLIs, authorization systems, and agentic platforms owning features end-to-end from design through production.
- You will uphold security and reliability standards across Imperium services, including Fine-Grained Access Control (FGAC), ensuring safe and context-aware access at scale.
- You will mentor peers, participate in design reviews, and drive operational excellence through monitoring, runbooks, and continuous improvement of on-call practices.
We value simplicity, security, and scalability in our designs, and believe automation should be seamless to the engineers who rely on it every day.
