Job Description
- Role responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Strong background and experience in distribution natural gas construction is required.
- Lead and perform Project Safety plans, Project Compliance plans & Project Quality plans.
- Identify hazards and plan for changes in conditions, along with ensuring good quality Hazard analysis & work plans are completed and reviewed with crews.
- Comprehend and utilize the work plan process with respect to quality inspections.
- Be knowledgeable and follow HR responsibilities related to hiring, terminating, documenting & following up with employee issues as they arise within his/her area of responsibility.
- Manage equipment utilization & maintenance and understand equipment capabilities.
- Develop and/or interpret short-term schedule (daily, weekly, 3 wks).
- Assign resources, allocate equipment, interpret contract drawings, monitor daily costs.
- Enter accurate timecards, daily diaries, quantities, issues, etc.
- Understand his/her scope of work and can identify, document, and escalate when changes arise.
- Effectively manage placement and storage of on-site permanent materials.
- Plan to ensure tools are readily available when needed.
- Effectively lead, train and mentor the work crew.
- Ensure that permit terms & conditions are followed.
- Leads jobsite Safety and Productivity objectives & goals.
- Develop and follows risk mitigation plan for key operational items and understands and responsible for direct cost of project.
- Manage subcontractors (schedule/cost/coordination/issue resolution).
- Review daily time and quantities timely and accurately.
- Crew Lead and/or Foreman experience preferred.
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as project requires.
- Working experience in Natural Gas Utility construction preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Must be able to tolerate frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the workday.
- Capability to push, pull, grasp, and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Must be able to wear and operate the required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves
Pay Range: $35 - $40 per hour
