Are you a motivated, customer‑focused Team Leader looking to join a dynamic SAP team?

This role offers the opportunity to work with modern SAP technologies while contributing to an ambitious digital strategy, providing strong exposure to ongoing system and service improvements. You’ll benefit from a supportive and collaborative working environment, with positive learning opportunities within a larger SAP team.

Hampshire County Council also promotes a healthy work-life balance through flexible working arrangements, alongside a comprehensive benefits package that includes a pension, flexi-time, travel discounts, and family-friendly policies, all within a well-connected and attractive Winchester location.

The Role:

As part of our Shared Services IT Support and Testing team, you’ll demonstrate your passion for customer service by ensuring that our customers receive excellent service. You’ll lead, guide, and motivate the team who support predominantly SAP HR, Payroll, Finance, and SuccessFactors modules, and you may be asked to help support other areas of IT.

You’ll ensure that challenging queries raised by the business or our partner organisations are analysed and resolved by the team within agreed SLAs.

Collaborating with other SAP teams and with support colleagues in our Integrated Business Centre will be essential, as will the ability to articulate complex technical themes to non-technical audiences. You will also be required to drive the escalation and resolution of high-priority and/or high-impact issues, which will involve liaising with teams across the business, IT, and senior stakeholders.

What you’ll do:

This role will suit an individual who spends the majority of their time using SAP HR, Payroll, Finance, or SuccessFactors in a business environment, with a proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and line management experience. Being part of a larger SAP team will provide valuable learning opportunities.

Why should you apply?

  • You will work with new technology
  • You will be part of an ambitious digital strategy

What we’re looking for:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional with strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. You will be able to lead and inspire a team while managing workloads effectively and maintaining a strong customer focus throughout.

The role requires excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise under pressure, and confidence in working independently and making decisions. You will engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and communicate complex information clearly. A high level of technical competence is essential, including proven experience with SAP ERP systems.
