Job Overview:
The Plant Production Planner will be responsible for managing and optimizing the production schedule at our manufacturing facility. This role involves planning, coordinating, and monitoring all aspects of the production process to ensure that products are manufactured efficiently, on time, and in compliance with quality standards. The ideal candidate will work closely with various departments, including procurement, Logistics, Sales, and production team to achieve optimal production flow and meet customer demand.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Scheduling & Planning
Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on demand forecasts and sales orders.
Optimize production schedules to ensure efficient use of resources, including labor, machinery, and materials.
Adjust production plans as needed to accommodate changes in demand, supply chain disruptions, or machine downtime.
Inventory & Materials Management
Monitor and control raw materials and finished goods inventory levels to minimize waste and prevent stockouts.
Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of raw materials.
Conduct regular inventory checks to maintain accurate stock records.
Cross-functional Coordination
Work closely with the production, quality control, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth production flow.
Coordinate with the logistics team to schedule shipments and manage lead times.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on production status, delays, or changes.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Track and analyze production metrics to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
Generate regular reports on production efficiency, resource utilization, and output levels.
Utilize data to recommend and implement process improvements that enhance productivity.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and reduce costs.
Ensure all production activities comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to implement innovative production planning strategies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Over 5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain management.
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
Preferred Skills+:
Experience in a manufacturing environment, especially in the plant-based or chemical products production industry.
Certification in APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or related qualifications.
Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean methodologies for process optimization.
