JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
WORK SHIFT: (Monday - Friday) Hours vary from 5AM-6PM for an hour shift based on coverage needs.
JOB SUMMARY:
Delivers supplies to departments. Maintains Dock, Central Storeroom, and vehicle interior appearances. Counts inventory and checks Central Storeroom for expired goods. Delivers stock from Storeroom to Nursing Units as required. Performs all other related duties as directed by Materials Operations Manager or Director of Materials Management.
Delivers supplies to departments in a timely manner and obtains signatures. Delivers overnight and refrigerated items immediately. Operates equipment necessary to transport supplies. Cleans interiors of courier vans. Transports Central Storeroom boxes to compactor. Maintains Dock and Central Storeroom appearance. Counts inventory in stock and posts totals to inventory records, manually and using a computer. Checks Central Storeroom for expired goods, alerting Buyer of Storeroom supplies. Prepares list of defective and unusable items. Delivers stock from Storeroom to Nursing Units as required. Performs all other related duties as directed by Materials Operations Manager or Department Head of Materials Management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Must possess the ability to lift 30 pounds. Must have basic computer skills and mathematical skills to count accurately. Must be able to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions. Hospital experience preferred. Good interpersonal skills, commitment to quality control when performing counts and expired goods.
Must have a valid and current state issued driver’s license. Must maintain and provide proof of automobile insurance (at own expense) in amounts which meet at least the minimum liability coverage limits required by the state of their residence.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
Physical Effort required:
Constant (67%-100%) – handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing
Frequently (34%-66%) – lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, climbing (stairs, ladders, poles, etc.), balancing, stooping
Occasionally (1%-33%) – crouching
