SITE PIPING & VALVE ENGINEER
Job Description
The role ensures the technical integrity of all piping and valve systems from construction through to pre-commissioning and mechanical completion, working in close collaboration with EPC Contractors, QA/QC teams, and commissioning stakeholders.
Technical Support — Engineering to Construction Interface
• Provide day-to-day discipline technical support for all piping and valve matters on site.
• Ensure correct interpretation and application of engineering deliverables: isometrics, valve datasheets, material specifications, piping layouts, and 3D model extracts.
• Process and respond to Contractor Technical Queries (TQ), Deviation Requests (DER), Concession Requests, and site clarifications in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with home-office engineering to resolve design discrepancies or information gaps impacting site execution.
Construction Support
• Assist construction teams with technical clarifications for piping and valve installation, welding, testing, flushing, and reinstatement.
• Review construction documentation: ITPs, WPS/PQRs, erection plans, and test packs.
• Participate in joint inspections for piping and valves including weld/NDE checks and material conformity verification.
• Monitor proper handling, preservation, and installation of all valve types (manual, actuated, control, and cryogenic).
Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning Assistance
• Support preparation and review of pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures: hydrotest, pneumatic tests, cleaning, drying, and leak testing.
• Verify test pack completeness, punch list closure, and discipline walkdowns.
• Follow progress of as-built mark-ups, mechanical completion dossiers, and ICAPS inputs.
Interface & Coordination
• Interface with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, QA/QC, and Commissioning teams on piping and valve topics.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to report discipline issues, flag constructability concerns, and support practical solutions.
• Liaise with Contractor engineering teams and vendors to clarify technical points and follow up on pending actions.
HSE & Quality
