Job Description
Are you passionate about transforming operational processes through data-driven insights? Are you motivated to have a direct impact on customers around the world? Do you have a business analytics background and love for continuous improvement and finding creative solutions to challenging problems? Amazon's Translation Services team is responsible for providing translation tools and solutions to support the localization and translation needs of all Amazon businesses. At Translation Services Operations, we partner with other internal Amazonian teams to translate and deliver content for users of Amazon's tools and services around the world. We obsess over finding the optimal balance between quality, speed, and cost for customers we serve.
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to own end-to-end analytical work for our vendor invoicing processes — from maintaining financial controllership to identifying improvement opportunities through data. You will own problems from start to finish: finding opportunities through data analysis, designing solutions, implementing them, and sustaining them. You will build dashboards, automate processes, and maintain the operational mechanisms that keep the business running. You will be comfortable working in an international, dynamic environment, where change is present as we constantly grow, improve, and innovate.
Key job responsibilities
- Own and monitor key invoicing metrics end-to-end, diving deep into data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities; then implementing solutions
- Design, build, and maintain analytical frameworks and dashboards that ensure financial accuracy and process compliance
- Leverage data to propose business improvements and inform decision-making; including vendor selection, workflow redesigns, and cost structure optimization
- Proactively identify automation and process simplification opportunities, particularly leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) capabilities, and drive them from concept to implementation
- Conduct root cause analyses on process failures and develop scalable preventive solutions
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Business Development, Quality, Product, Finance) to drive alignment and implement agreed-upon improvements.
A day in the life
In the morning, you'll run invoice audits following an audit plan designed to provide statistical coverage across all vendors — ensuring our invoice validation mechanisms are working as expected. When findings arise, you'll loop in the vendor and any required support teams to resolve discrepancies. By the afternoon, you'll shift focus to analyzing actual costs for the month, diving deep into month-over-month variation to understand the main drivers and identify what can be improved for better cost efficiency. Throughout the day, you'll also assess where in our processes we have compliance risks, defining guardrails to ensure financial controllership remains strong as we scale.
About the team
The Vendor Management & Data Insights (VMDI) team, within Translation Services Operations, consolidates vendor management operations with centralized reporting functions — including invoicing, pricing, and metrics — under one leadership. We are responsible for building and maintaining excellent relationships with external vendors to deliver results at scale for our customers, while providing the data foundation that drives decision-making across the organization. We collaborate closely with Quality and Content, Business Development, Customer Success, and Products teams to provide a seamless experience for both vendors and clients. We value a collaborative, inclusive, innovative, and data-driven culture as we work to optimize processes, improve quality, and drive cost efficiencies across Amazon's translation ecosystem.

- * Experience with Python or R for data analysis and automation
