This position reports to:
Manufacturing Unit Manager__
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team to execute purchasing and logistics strategies that support the business by optimizing costs, quality, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products. Each day, you will ensure execution in accordance with company and Procurement team instructions and procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy to ensure that suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements.
The work model for the role is: #L-Onsite
This role is contributing to the Electrification Business Area in Mexico. Main stakeholders are local and global suppliers, Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics, and Global Procurement teams.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Ensuring relevant parties understand strategies and execute processes accordingly and ensuring alignment between local procurement activities and division strategy.
- Implementing programs to drive improvement in cost, quality, and delivery, in accordance with group/business area procurement guidelines and global division/business area objectives.
- Securing full utilization of the SAP Ariba platform according to the relevant procedure, both related to sharing supplier information and finding existing high-performing suppliers to ABB.
- Managing planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets, emerging country spending, and savings forecasts.

Qualifications for the role
- You are highly skilled in strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier relationship management, negotiation, and supply chain management within the industrial manufacturing, electrical, automation or related sectors.
- You have 7+ years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Purchasing leadership roles.
- You possess advanced knowledge of commodity management, including steel, copper, aluminum, electrical components, electronic components, and industrial raw materials.
- You are highly adept in SAP, SAP Ariba, ERP/MRP systems, and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for procurement analysis and reporting.
- You are passionate about supplier development, negotiation, stakeholder management, cost optimization, and continuous improvement.
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge or certification in APICS, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Logistics is highly desirable.
- Experience in logistics, inventory planning, supplier performance management, and international sourcing is considered a strong advantage.
- You are at ease communicating in English and Spanish, with advanced to fluent English proficiency required due to frequent interaction with international suppliers and global stakeholders.
