
Hardware Engineer (IDC Domain Controller)
Job Description
Objectives:
- Responsible for IDC hardware development from requirements to mass production, including requirements analysis, key components evaluation and selection, Hardware architecture design, detailed electrical design, simulation and testing, circuit/thermal simulation and WCA, hardware FMEA, DV/PV verification, and mass production support.
- Responsible for IDC localization project, Conduct hardware architecture and design review for relevant suppliers, participate in performance acceptance problem analysis and solution introduction
Tasks:
1. Person in Charge responsibility for China IDC ECU (Applicable for In-house HW development or HW tier1 development)
- Clarification of the requirements within the Mercedes-Benz organization, e.g. upper system, functional safety, software development team, E/E-integration, regulation etc..
- End to end full-process experience in IDC hardware development from requirements to mass production
- Supplier management and maturity management of the ECU and its implementation plan to ensure the development meets the overall system timeline.
- Ensure the maturity level of the ECU
2.ECU relevant documentation and committee meetings for China/localization projects
- Organizing and joining the ECU relevant committee meetings and ensure that the information are communicated also to the team (multiplier).
- Documenting of the ECU relevant information/requirements/solution timely and completely into the Mercedes-Benz tools when necessary (e.g. DOORS, EPDM, EDLS, Dialog etc.)
3.Innovation
- Monitoring of market trend and new technologies of ADAS domain, as well as SoC
- When necessary, create demonstrations, prototypes or Proof of Concepts to show functionality of the new technology
- keep company technologically competitive

Qualification
Education
Bachelor degree in electronic/eltectro-technic, computer science or similar course of studies
- Fluent English and Chinese is mandatory; German language knowledge is an advantage
Experience
- Minimum 5 years working experience at OEM or OEM supplier for ADAS project Electrical Design on mainstream SOC platforms, such as NV, Qualcomm or China SoCs
- Deep understanding of ADAS/infotainment Hardware Architecture is required
Master ECAD tools such as Candence, Mentor Graphics Xpedition, and be proficient in using hardware circuit simulation software
Specific Knowledge
Expert knowledge in component development for automotive industry
Ability to drive the problem-solving process self-contained with high degree of persistence and patience
Be familiar with CAN, LIN, Ethernet, Serdes and high speed signals design, simulation and problem solving
Willingness to travel inside China and abroad
- System Architecture Thinking:
a) Able to think from the perspective of the vehicle's electronic and electrical architecture and understand the interaction logic between domain controllers and components such as sensors and actuators;
b) Possess technical pre-research and route planning capabilities to define technical directions for next-generation products. - Have supplier management capabilities to drive partners such as chip manufacturers and HW tier1 to solve problems
