Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Martin & Bayley, Inc. – Huck’s Market
Job Purpose:
At Huck’s Market, our Maintenance Technicians play a critical role in keeping our stores safe, functional, and customer-ready. This position supports multiple locations by transporting equipment, completing minor repairs, and assisting with fixture installation, while maintaining strict adherence to company safety standards and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
· Safely operate company vehicles and pull trailers to transport equipment, fixtures, and supplies between locations
· Load, secure, transport, and unload materials in a safe and efficient manner
· Perform minor repairs and general maintenance on store equipment, fixtures, and building components
· Assemble, install, and adjust racking, shelving, and store fixtures to company standards
· Assist with preventative maintenance and general upkeep of facilities and equipment
· Identify and promptly report maintenance, safety, or operational concerns
· Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in clean, organized, and safe working condition
· Provide timely and professional support to store teams while minimizing disruption to store operations
Safety & Compliance Expectations
· Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times — safety is a top priority
· Comply with all applicable local, county, state, and federal regulations, including transportation and workplace safety requirements across all operating states (IL, IN, KY, MO, TN)
· Use proper lifting techniques and required personal protective equipment (PPE)
· Ensure all loads are properly secured and transported in accordance with safety guidelines
· Immediately report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions
Qualifications
· Basic mechanical, maintenance, or construction experience preferred
· Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; ability to operate trucks and trailers safely
· Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
· Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50+ pounds
Work Environment & Expectations
· Frequent travel between store locations is required
· Work performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions
· Role requires physical activity, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
· Schedule may vary based on business needs, project timelines, and emergency repairs
