Job Description

What We Are Looking For

The operator is responsible for overall daily operations of processing plant and assists with maintenance activities.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Measure and record production
• Operate processing plant, gas compressors, pumps, and other related equipment
• Perform minor repairs and major repairs with assistance from others on compressors and other related equipment
• Take callouts and respond in a timely manner
• Assist mechanical, measurement, and other company personnel as needed
• Ensure the cost effectiveness and efficiency of all engines and associated equipment
• Ensure that the product and gas meet the requirement and specs of the customer
• Record production and equipment readings
• Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork for all activities performed
• Report all excessive downtime to appropriate people
• Maintain company vehicle appropriately
• Maintain PSM in compliance and adheres to all Kinder Morgan safety rules and regulations
• Other duties as assigned
What You Will Do

Education and/or experience:
• High school degree or equivalent
• General knowledge of compressor stations, gathering system, and processing plant operations

Qualifications:
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Customer orientation
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the company and outside contractors
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals)
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out day-to-day operation issues
• Ability to make quick and reasonable decisions in sometimes-adverse conditions
• Ability to follows company policies, practices, and regulatory requirements

Certificates, licenses, registrations:
• Valid state operating license with insurable driving record under company insurance policy

• Uses physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment/tools
• Climbs and works at various heights; may work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched or kneeling position
• Routinely reacts to visual, aural and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
• Regularly bends, stoops, moves from ground level to higher levels, raises/lifts from ground level a load up to 50 lbs., manually transports a load up to 75 lbs., and applies up to 150 pounds of torque
• Regularly gets into and out of vehicles and rides over rough roads
• Walks an average of 5 miles per day, up to 7 miles per day
• Candidates may be subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing requirements
• Subject to overtime and callouts

• Wears safety equipment as required
Because this position requires donning SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus), employees must pass a SCBA fit test and screening as a condition of employment.
