Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.As a Mechanical Design Engineer supporting the SDS Support and Training (S&T) Support Equipment team, you will be responsible for coordinating with suppliers, reviewing designs, and integrating with other NG integrated product teams to ensure adherence to, and implementation of requirements. You will actively participate in design reviews, research, plan, design and develop mechanical products and solutions. Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail are critical to being successful in this position.
The standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
This position can be filled as an Associate (level 1) or Engineer (level 2) depending on experience and qualifications.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field
- 0 years of experience (level 1) or 2 years (level 2) of relevant experience
- U.S. citizen
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of tools - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
- Ability to understand and interpret requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar
- Experience performing mechanical design efforts on MILCON, major infrastructure/building projects, or Aerospace and Defense programs.
- Must be able to work independently, function in a dynamic environment, and be flexible to changing direction
- Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts
- Exposure to missiles program requirements & with propulsion
- Proficient with 3D design/2D drawing CAD in NX
- Proficient with PDM and/or CPLM
- Proficient with GD&T and ASME Y14.5-2009
