
Registered Nurse (PRN) - Surgery Center
Job Description
Job Specific Competencies:
- Demonstrates appropriate assessment of the patient and documents appropriately.
- Plans patient care to achieve optimal level of function based on nursing assessment, diagnoses, and/or medical treatment. Communicates the plan to patient and/or significant others level of understanding, and documents according to policy.
- Implements patient care according to planned interventions and documents according to policy.
- Evaluates patient status in relation to established goals and desired outcomes and revises plan as indicated.
- Demonstrates behaviors that promote professionalism, utilizing the principle of quality improvement.
- Serves as a professional resource when needed, including assisting in co-worker training and orientation.
- Demonstrates understanding of role in all areas of conscious sedation and medication administration.
- Demonstrates customer relations as high priority in line with JCMG mission, vision and values.
- Provides appropriate safety and infection control measures.
- Strives for continuous quality improvement.
- Participates in educational experiences designed to maintain and/or improve professional competence.
- Maintains high work ethic standards.
- Provides quality customer service to staff, patients and visitors at all times.
Education:
- ADN or BSN degree
- Prefer 2-years of experience in the operating room setting
- RN license in the state of MO in good standing
- Current BCLS certification
- Current ACLS certification (or obtain ACLS certification within 6 months of employment)
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Working environment is generally favorable; however, there is exposure risk in the form of disease and potential for exposure to electrical and explosion hazards common in a surgical department environment. High potential for exposure to blood and body fluids; Personal protective equipment required.
Pay Range: $32.00 - $39.20 per hour
