Job Description
The Market Access Strategy & Marketing lead is responsible for shaping and executing comprehensive access strategies for Gilead Oncology across the U.S. lifecycle, from pre-launch through in-line optimization. This role drives the development, launch, and ongoing refinement of access strategies across account, provider, and payer audiences, ensuring strong competitive positioning and messaging in an evolving oncology landscape.
This role orchestrates execution across matrix teams through cross-functional alignment and collaboration, ensuring seamless delivery of strategies demonstrated through launch readiness, resource deployment, and field enablement. In addition, it proactively identifies emerging opportunities to enhance engagement models, EHR/EMR placement at accounts, and strengthen value communication.
Job Responsibilities
Partner across the organization to lead and develop U.S. oncology launch, in-line, and lifecycle access strategies, guiding cross-functional teams to design and implement optimal access approaches
Monitor oncology access trends, policy changes, and competitive dynamics to identify risks and recommend innovative access solutions
Ensure organizational alignment on factors influencing coverage, provider access, EMR/EHR placement and patient access, including oncology-specific dynamics such as buy-and-bill, site-of-care, and treatment pathway management
Develop comprehensive access strategic market access plans for in-line and pipeline oncology assets in alignment with Medical Affairs -PAQ, USMA, Sales, and Marketing
Serve as Market Access point during brand planning by connecting access objectives with evolving access requirements and oncology treatment landscape dynamics
Develop GPO/society promotional strategy and own its execution by working collaboratively with brand marketing, KAD, and GPO field teams
Build and maintain deep customer expertise through collaboration with Account Teams and cross-functional stakeholders, including payer, provider, and integrated delivery network perspectives
Serve as key contributor to market research identification, key questions and objectives, and research development to inform access strategy
Partner with Global Value & Access (GV&A) and Global Commercial Product Strategy teams to provide U.S. POV on global initiatives and value propositions
Oversee budgets both current and for future planning purposes to drive execution of access initiatives
Lead and interface with agencies in creation of strategy and materials including budget management
Role expectations
12+ years of work experience with Bachelors degree; 10+ years of work experience with Masters degree
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or other advanced degree
Experience in Oncology buy and bill market access. Experience in breast, lung and/or endometrial therapeutic areas an added plus.
Demonstrate a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities, including identifying and establishing streamlined processes, the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues and external vendors/agencies to achieve meaningful outcomes, and create business impact.
Possess a deep understanding of the US healthcare environment buy and bill access space; ability to identify trends in healthcare that impact on our business and to develop and drive strategies and tactics that will ensure sustainable business success.
Proven track record of success in developing, implementing, and executing strategies that drive business performance.
Self-starter with strong initiative and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
Demonstrates strong analytical skills and business acumen with ability to understand and apply data and insights into strategic initiatives and messaging
Advanced strategic thinking skills and strategic story-telling skills as evidenced by the ability to identify alternative scenarios, resulting implications, and development of pragmatic recommendations.
Clear communication skills: the ability to navigate internal organization/processes, mobilize key stakeholders, and engage and tailor communication with a range of audiences including peers and Senior Leadership
PRC experience or experience in leading external facing promotional materials through cross-functional review, approval, and distribution, ensuring alignment with Regulatory, Legal, and Medical

The salary range for this position is:
Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
