Job Description
We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Specialist 2 to join our Payment Operations team. This role will be based in Taiwan.
The SP2 FX Back Office Staff is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end processing of Foreign Exchange (FX) transactions, including settlement, nostro accounts reconciliation, regulatory reports and documentation. This role requires deep expertise in FX operations, strong communication skills, and the ability to drive process improvements. The FX Back Office Staff will also ensure that all transactions comply with regulatory standards and internal policies while providing guidance and support to junior team members.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Trade Settlement Oversight: Follow up with FX trades to ensure all FX trades verified and identify those with regulatory reports.
- Reconciliation Management: Lead the reconciliation of FX transactions, identifying and resolving any discrepancies, and ensuring accuracy in all financial records.
- Trade Confirmation: Manage the confirmation of trade details with counterparties, ensuring consistency and agreement in all transaction records.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all FX transaction documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with internal policies and external regulations.
- Support for Front Office: Provide support to the FX trading desk, including monitoring trade records, FX positions, and assisting with trade-related queries.
- Support for Corporate Treasury: Provide support for Corporate Treasury by monitoring nostro accounts across multiple currencies, following instructions for Taiwanese Dollar (TWD) movements, and executing Money Market transactions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements across all FX transactions. Be familiar with local regulations to generate and review detailed regulatory reports for FX transactions within required timeframe.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generate and review detailed regulatory reports for FX transactions, including settlement status, trade volumes, and operational risks. Provide insights and recommendations for data automation to management team.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce operational risk, and streamline FX operations.
- Leadership and Mentoring: Provide guidance and training to junior FX Back Office staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- System Management: Oversee and escalate issues of all FX back-office systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and operational effectiveness.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between the back office, front office, counterparties, and other internal departments to resolve issues and ensure smooth trade processing.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in FX operations, with a significant portion in a senior role.
- Proven expertise in FX trade lifecycle management, including settlement, reconciliation, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent mentoring abilities, with a track record of managing and developing teams.
- High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel formula, and familiarity with FX trading platforms and settlement systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in both Mandarin and English, capable of handling routine communication, both written and verbal.
Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of FX markets, settlement processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of risk management practices and compliance in FX operations.
